Deliah
Lawrence: Do you have any reflections about love?
Monica F. Hudson: Love is a powerful thing. Nothing can overpower love. Love can mend, love can bring, love can change, love can restore, love can create even the heart of stone. Nothing is as powerful as the strength of love, because God is love. He can do all these things for the benefit of His plan and purpose, yes even His Will.
DL: In
celebration of National Poetry Month, can you share with us a few of your
poems?
MFH: Sure, here you go:
THE ONE (An excerpt from The Bride and The
Bridegroom: A Spiritual Romance)
For tomorrow is never far off to think of my life becoming a new. Memories of treasures buried deep in the earth can I become inspired to unearth such times that have gone by. Our minds bring an endless scope of sparkles and dreams set on the horizon of dreams that open like a treasure chest. Can hope only grant me one wish that I may see the star chosen just for me and touch the days of tomorrow.
Wait on the black beaches that shimmer like pearls for there you will find me, hidden from all the others. Waver not in trusting your Faith; your eyes don't deceive you. Not in all battles won and lost I have but mesmerized your voice, let my ears be attentive to that, which pour upon me as honey. Taste of what your eyes behold sweet, warm and running with juices as a plum fresh from the orchard. Has not? Cannot? My lips please thee after for my voice tenderly, softly releases your name into the wind that it be carried away so that the earth may know I'm safe, secure and buried deeply in your arms.
THE ANSWER (An excerpt from Over There:
Raindrops of Reflections)
I speak with the answer that you may know who your Redeemer is. He walks with you throughout your life. Look not in the world, for I am not there, but see. I am rooted in every man who believes in me. Fill your tongue with questions. See that the cross is the answer to the question. A man in the suffering, shedding of the innocent that brought life to the criminals, so true was my walk to show the world my pledge, as flesh to reveal to the haters that I was true to the promise. Let your eyes see that I came to answer to all that choose to believe. I came to pay a ransom, that all may be free. For my kingdom is not here, but Over There.
Truly you will weep and mourn over what is going to happen to me, but the world will rejoice. You will grieve, but your grief will suddenly turn to wonderful joy when you see me again. John (NLT) 16:20
