So, Spring is finally here and I'm still waiting for it to finally kick in. First, we had snow - yes, it was officially Spring. Then, we now have crazy torrential rain including flood warnings all over the state of Maryland. At least this was expected - "April showers bring May flowers."
Anyway, what's not expected is for drivers to actually pay attention when we have such crazy weather. Not only do they continue to follow you closely on the highways, they speed around you with hardly enough room on the slippery roads if something were to go wrong. I still see some drivers weaving behind and in front of me because they are texting despite the state law that that specifically state "no hand held cell phone use while driving." Lately, I've seen cars end up over the guard rails and end up into a ditch or in a tree. This creates such havoc especially early in the morning when others are trying to get to work safe and sound.
A friend of mine told me that "folks don't know how to act when the weather changes," and I'm so inclined to believe her. At the end of the day, I stay alert and drive not only for myself but for the other distracted drivers out there. I sure wish they would be considerate every now and then!
