"Baltimore Book Festival"

On Saturday, September 27, 2014 I exhibited at the Baltimore Book Festival. This year the festival took place at the Baltimore Inner Harbor after 18 years of being at Mt. Vernon Place due to major refurbishment of the Washington Monument. The Inner Harbor was a very spacious venue and unless you had your walking shoes on...well, you would have missed out on some of the exhibitors who were very close to Federal Hill. Anyway, I had a great time with my table mates at the Maryland Writers' Association booth: Brandon Patterson, K.R. Raye, LaDonna Smith and the Morrows. We greeted, laughed and talked to both readers and writers. Oh, what great fun!

"Moms' Night Out" - Kahler Hall

On Friday, September 19, 2014, I participated as an exhibitor at Moms' Night Out at Kahler Hall in Columbia, MD. I had a great time at this event. I networked with my fellow vendors and got to meet some cool avid readers. As the night went on, the DJ had everyone rocking and the performers had everyone dancing and laughing out loud. Fun times!

"B. Swangin's Book Launch Party" - The Barber Lounge for Men

On Sunday, September 7, 2014, I attended fellow diva, B. Swangin Webster's book launch party for her novel, titled "Let Me Just Say This." This event took place at The Barber Lounge for Men and again, Sharon Harper pulled out all stops including a party bus! Yes, that's right! After the book signing, picture taking, wine drinking and eating, there was a party bus to just get your groove on. Everyone had a fantastic time! Way to go B. Swangin Webster!

"Jazz Weekend"

Last weekend was nothing short of a jam packed fun filled time. On Friday, September 5, 2014, I went to Jazz Night in Southwest, Washington, DC at the Westminster Presbyterian Church. Before I could enjoy the jazz, I had to get some good food being sold in the basement of the church. That fish, macaroni and cheese, and sweet potato pie was oh so good. I was enjoying my meal and the music but I couldn't wait to grab a seat upstairs to be closer to all that good music. Let's just say that Mark Meadows and his band ROCKED the house! The jazz theme continued on Saturday, September 6, 2014 when I went to the Rosslyn Jazz Festival in Arlington, VA. The bands were awesome: Corey Wallace DUBtet, Ghost Train Orchestra, Red Baraat and Rebirth Brass Band!

"Flo Fest DC 2014"

The Book Divas on Tour (featuring B. Swangin Webster, K.R. Raye and I) kicked off Labor Day by exhibiting at Flo Fest DC 2014. The music, delicious wines, the food, the vendors and book lovers were all that was needed to have a wonderful time at this event in Southeast Washington, DC. Check out the photos!

On August 25, 2014, the Book Divas on Tour (featuring B. Swangin Webster, K.R. Raye and I) as well as guest diva, Puja Guha appeared at the Barber Lounge for Men. The host, Sharon Harper, did a fantastic job in creating a very fun atmosphere at this location. We had a fantastic time meeting and greeting the audience and answering their questions.
